Xylem and Phloem, 2008 glass mosaic on plywood and tree branches 60" x 132"
The sculpture was created for an exhibit at the Perkins Art Center, honoring the Philadelphia artist Isaiah Zagar. The work was inspired by the vascular system of trees and plants. Two main shapes are connected by three saplings to suggest the connection between the earth and foliage.

Waterfall, 2012 Glass mosaic mural made with glass globs and recycled mirror 48"x72"
I found large glass globs at a store and wanted to use them in a piece. I had been thinking about Gustave Klimt's work and decorative works during the Secessionist Movement in Vienna and how artworks used abstracted and simplified organic forms and patterns. I was re-doing my half bath and took the opportunity to play.
